Being a girl in middle school / high school must be an absolute nightmare in the age of instagram because of this sense of proximity you have with girls your age that are famous for nothing else but for being pretty and having a bankable online avatar that exploits both the consumer and the girl on the screen and I can’t imagine what it feels like.
You know that whole thing abt how women need to be w men who are older than them bc women mature faster that’s not true lol women are conditioned n trained to do endless labor n (usually) develop tools to parse emotion n develop dimension
Men don’t do this and .. As a result people like really believe this nonsense lol like 👀 🤔💀
Also used as a defense for inappropriate age gaps n also to blame girls for being outright preyed on by men so by promoting this idea that girls are perpetually women who are fully developed mentally emotionally and physically n are primed for heterosexual romantic relationships at any stage in mental n physical n emotional development it feeds n upholds a lot of systems of abuse at once This is part of what I mean abt heterosexuality being inherently violent 🙃
There’s also this piece of women being defined by Iconized womanhood. So like they’re Mary n they’re ur mother n they’re some cool bitch but like they’re not… There’s internalized pressure to perform n police yourself within these roles frm before like puberty and it is unnatural obviously and it also keeps people frm understanding that it’s ok to be young and not mature as a girl and as a young adult like you don’t pop out of the womb w a fully developed brain and emotionality, ready to take on n cater to patriarchal masculine identity
except until men actually grow up i will not date anyone even a year yonger than me
